Funeral for retired 1st Sgt. Jannie L. "Andy" Anderson, 78, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with retired Chaplain Lt. Col. Thomas Condry officiating.
1st Sgt. Anderson died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at a local hospital.
Burial with full military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
He was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Russell Springs, Ky., to Melvin and Ivola Collins Anderson. He served 23 years in the Army earning various medals including the Army Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal 6th Award, National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Air Force Expeditionary Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He was a member of the Bavarian Masonic Lodge No. 935 in Munich, Germany.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Muriel and Brian Paulson, Greensburg, Pa.; two grandchildren: Caleb Paulson and Emma Paulson; a brother and his wife, Olis and Elfriede Anderson, Russell Springs, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Timothy O'Neal Anderson and five brothers.
