George Calvin Barber, aged 80 years, a resident of Wakefield, died at 8 a.m. today in the Carroll County General Hospital, Westminster, after a short illness.
Born in Carroll County, he was the son of the late George C. and Catherine Davis Barber. His wife, Mrs. Della Lippy Barber pre-deceased him by five years. Mr. Barber was a member of the Wakefield Church of God.
Surviving are four children: Mrs. Elmer Mueller, Salem; Harry C. Barber and Elmer S. Barber, both of Westminster, and Miss Dorothy Barber, at home; one grandchild, two brothers, Lewis Barber, Westminster, and Hershel Barber, Hagerstown.
The body is at the New Windsor Funeral Home of D. D. Hartzler and Sons, where friends may call Thursday evening. The body will be removed to the Wakefield Church of God Friday at 9:30 a.m., where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 by his pastor, Rev. Orgyl L. Dick. Interment will be in Leisters cemetery, near Westminster.
