He was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, on June 13, 1945. William was a graduate of Canon McMillian High School in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, and had been a resident of Ohio for the past 45 years. He was employed by Ford Motor Company, Lorain Assembly, for 30 years, retiring in 1997.
William was a member of Tower Baptist Church in Lorain and UAW Local 425. He was also involved in many youth programs during his years of Church Service. William enjoyed playing guitar and singing gospel songs for the church, wood working, model railroading, fishing, and spending many hours with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Linda (Holmes) Grabiak of Sheffield Village, sons, William E. Grabiak of Vermilion and Randall S. Grabiak of Sheffield Village, daughter, Terri (Grabiak) James (husband Steven) of Sheffield Village, five grandchildren, Chantel James, Julie Grabiak, Tiffany James, Robert Grabiak and Dillion James, brothers, Stanley and Ronald Grabiak, both of Washington Pennsylvania, sister, Colleen (Grabiak) Mansfield of Wahington Pennsylvania and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Evelyn Grabiak.
Friends may call Tuesday February 16, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Tower Baptist Church 1313 Tower Blvd, Lorain where services will be held Wednesday February 17, 2010 at 11 AM. The Rev. Gary Dorsey, pastor, and The Rev. Tom Spaulding, pastor of New Life Baptist Church in Elyria, will co-officiate. Burial will follow at Garfield Cemetery, Sheffield Village.
Arrangements are being handled by Wyers Funeral Chapel of Sheffield Township.
