The Napa Valley Register, October 22, 1936

CALISTOGA, Oct. 22.—After a futile two-day struggle to survive severe burns, Frank McAllister, 26-year-old truck driver, died at 11:30 o'clock last night at the Calistoga Hospital.

Flaming gasoline dripping from a broken line on his truck which he was trying to repair on the Santa Rosa road early Tuesday morning caused the fatal burns.

The tragic incident widows Nona McAllister and leaves fatherless three small children, Roger, Robert and Evelyn, the latter four months old. There are also a brother, William McAllister of Calistoga and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Akin of Vallejo.

McAllister was a native of Ohio but had lived in Napa valley for the last nine years. He was associated with his brother in operating a trucking concern.

Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning at the Moran parlors with burial in the Calistoga cemetery.

Note: Ultimately he was not buried in the Calistoga Cemetery as the obituary states.
