Beatrice Caron was born on February 25, 1904, in Shetek Township, Murray County, Minnesota to Philip and Catherine Ewen Cummiskey. She grew up on the family farm and attended County School District #1. Bea graduated in 1921 from IHM School in Currie. She then took her Normal Teacher's training in Tracy and graduated in 1923. On September 9, 1929, she and Ambrose Caron were married at IHM Church in Currie. Following their marriage they lived in Rice Lake, Wisconsin from 1929 until 1936, when they moved to Cherokee, Iowa until 1937. They then moved to Charles City, Iowa and lived there until 1944 when they settled in Mankato. She went to work at Brett's Department Store in Mankato in 1945 and worked there for many years. Ambrose died in 1963 and Bea continued to live in Mankato. Bea entered the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Mankato on April 23, 1996, and passed away there on April 18, 2004, at the age of 100. She was a member of St. John's Parish in Mankato and she belonged to the Catholic Daughters and Altar Society. Bea enjoyed playing bridge, spending time with her family and many friends and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan.
