Mrs. Morris House Dies in New Orleans, Funeral at Bethel

Funeral rites were held Friday afternoon at Bethel Baptist Church for Mrs. Morris Quitman House who died early Wednesday morning from diabetes coma in the New Orleans Hospital. The Rev. D D Satterwhite officiated assisted by the Rev. Hyram Barefoot of Mantee, pastor of a Baptist Church near Monroe, La. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with the B C Hill Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were brothers-in-law, Roy House, Paragould, Ark.; Jeff House, Lake City, Ark.; Lige House, Sardis; Benton House, Houston; J C House, Freddie House and Chas House of New Orleans.

Mrs. House, who was formerly Miss Ruby Mae Dennis, daughter of Mr. Sy Dennis and the late Mrs. Dora Dennis, was born April 14 1914 in Club Run, Ky. While holding a position in New Orleans, she was married to Mrs. House December 25 1937. She joined the Baptist church in her native town when a girl. She and Mr. House had made their home in New Orleans for a number of years, but were planning to move here later this year.


Besides her husband and father, she leaves a five year old daughter, Ruby Diane, two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Thompson and Mrs. Royce Jaggers, both of Louisville, Ky., one brother, Dillard Dennis, of Baltimore, Maryland.
