C.C. Bateman Aged 92, Retired Farmer at El Paso Succumbs
C.C. Bateman, 92, retired farmer of the El Paso area, died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Mennonite hospital in Bloomington after a long illness.
Born Aug. 14, 1860 in Ray county , Missouri, he was the son of William and Louisa West Bateman and married Lucy L. Potter Nov. 9, 1887 in Metamora.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Ricksher of Naperville and Mrs. Esther Remmers and Mrs. Helen Burroughs, both of El Paso; a brother, James of Bloomington; eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. An infant son and a daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 at the Vincent memorial home in El Paso with the Rev. Jack B. North officiating. Burial was in White Oak cemetery north of Carlock.
