Civil War Veteran, Co G, 6th Vermont Volunteer Infantry. When searching the cemetery the 3rd great grand son of John Chase was also there looking for this burial. We kicked snow off and he thought the dates fit for John and Lucy. He told me that John and his cousins went to war and two cousins didn't come back. One was married to Lucy so when John got back he married her. He said that John had been wounded at Cedar Creek and I also had my 2nd great grand father wounded in the same battle. He has all of John's Civil War records, pictures of him in uniform and has his rifle with the record showing what it cost out of his pay when he was discharged (something like $4). Fun finding some one else on a cold day.
