Died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1994, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. He was 83, a resident of Clinton and a native of Washington Parish. He was a retired East Feliciana Parish County agent, with 28 years of service.
Visiting was held at Charlet Funeral Home, Clinton, 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Visiting was held at the funeral home chapel, 9 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Tom Logan. Interment in Masonic Cemetery.
Survived by wife, Myrtle May Roberts, Clinton; a son and daughter-in-law, Ikie and Sharon P. Roberts, Clinton; two grandsons, Jeff and Todd Gardner; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents; a sister, Irma R. Parker; and three brothers, Kermit, B.F. and Ikie Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Jeff and Todd Gardner, Phillip Roberts, Mac Clayton, Henry Andrews and Tom Spec Jones. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Jones, "Sonny" Guttzeit, Mitch McConnell, Don Phares, Landry Richardson, Danny Magee, W.B. Crain, R.L. "Buster" Andrews, Don Smith and Morgan Montgomery.
He was a longtime member of Clinton United Methodist Church, where he taught Men's Sunday School class for more than 20 years.
