Born on her father's Sandtown Plantation in Campbell County (now Fulton), GA, Hattie was the daughter of James Harwell Wilson and his 3rd wife, Mary Frances Green.

Hattie High contributed greatly to the arts in Atlanta when she donated her home to be used as an art museum.

She was also the Atlanta Chapter NSDAR Regent 1-15-1915 / 1-15-1916
