WOODMANSEE, CLIFTON O. "GUS", age 79 of Arcadia Rd, Richmond, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Virginia W. (Wright) Woodmansee Gus and his wife Ginger owned and operated the H.C. Woodmansee & Son till retiring in 2009 A charter member of Chariho Rotary since 1973, a avid golfer for many years, a mason for 57 years, member of the American Quarter Horse Association, Chowda Master for 20 + years at the Swamp Yankee Days, A Korean war veteran in the US Army and one of the oldest members and past commander of the Gordon/Greene Post 27 American Legion Member of the Blue Parrot Yacht Club. He was an active member of the Hopkinton Republican Committee. Gus will be sadly missed by his daughter Frances Gilman and her husband William Jr., of Richmond and son Clifton H. Woodmansee and his wife Cyndi of Exeter. His sister Alice Bitgood of Starke, FL and his four grandchildren William W. Gillman, III, Colin T. Gillman, Kylie M. Woodmansee and Clifton H. Woodmansee, II. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Hope Valley Baptist Church, Main St., Hope Valley Burial will follow with Military Honors in Pine Grove Cemetery Fairview Ave. Calling hours Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the S.R. Avery Funeral Home 3A Bank St., Hope Valley.
