During World War II, Woody served with the Sea Bee`s in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
Woody and Louise Karnes married on April 16, 1949 in Muskogee at First United Methodist Church.
In 1958, he began a career with Southwestern Bell Telephone where he worked on the lines and was a toll test board man. He retired from Southwestern Bell in 1987 after 39 years of service.
Woody was baptized in 1953 and a member of York Street Christian Church. He was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America.
Preceding Woody in death were his three brothers, Everett Woodall, Gordon Woodall and Joe Dan Woodall and two sisters, Berniece Coley and Maxine Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Louise of the home; two sons, Mike Woodall and his wife, Anna, and David Woodall, Sr. all of Tulsa; sister, Pat Halstied of Muskogee; three grandchildren, Lindsey Downing and her husband, Kelly, of Tahlequah, David Woodall, Jr. of Tulsa and Christina Woodall of Enid; four great -grandchildren, Ava June Woodall, Kelsi Downing, Alec Downing, and Tyler Downing; Numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Fosters` Ivory Chapel with Mr. Gary Jones and Mr. Gene Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jack Sublett, Glen Faith, Calvin Taylor, Terry Abel, David Woodall Jr., and Rick Holcomb.
Memorial contributions may be made to York Street Christian Church 1125 South York Muskogee, OK 74403. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
