Daughter of Robert F. Garrison and Sarah Watts. Married Fred O. Futch about 1917. In the 1920 US Census for Comanche County, Oklahoma, Fred and Mittie have one daughter, Kathryn, age 1 year 3 months.

Mrs. Mittie Futch married Sam Houston on December 16, 1929 in Harris County, Texas. In the 1930 US Census for Harris County, Texas, Sam's daughter Velma Houston, age 11, was living with them, as well as Mittie's daughter Kathryn, age 9.

Sometime after Sam Houston died in 1951, Mittie married Charles Lewis Dennard. They were living in Henderson, Texas when Lewis died in 1964.

Mittie Houston Dennard is buried with her second husband, Sam Houston. They share a double grave marker in the Palestine City Cemetery, New Addition Annex.

She was a homemaker, 83 years old, widowed, and a resident of Henderson, Texas. Informant was Kay Nash; burial was December 25, 1974. W. F. Bauer was in charge of arrangements.
