Mrs. Myra E. Hoffman died this morning at 1:30 o'clock in the home of her daughter, Mrs. P.M. Fair, 919 Sixth avenue, Brackenridge, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Hoffman was born February 22, 1852, near Bethlehem, the daughter of Craig and Martha Thom. She received her early education at the old Glade Run academy, Dayton, Pa., and later taught in the public schools of Armstrong county.
In 1873 she was united in marriage to John H. Hoffman, a Civil War veteran, of Eddyville, where they made their home which remained unbroken until the death of the husband in 1924. Six children were born to this union.
Mrs. Hoffman was a member of the Eddyville Reformed church for 60 years. She possessed a gentle and loving disposition and was an outstanding Sunday school teacher. One of her theories of living that will be especially remembered was her determination to never worry about anything but sin.
She is survived by six children, R.C. and W.H. Hoffman, of New Bethlehem; J.B. Hoffman, Mrs. W.A. Burchfield and Mrs. D. A. Hall, of Tarentum, and Mrs. P.M. Fair, with whom she made her home. Fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock, in the Fair home, 919 Sixth avenue, Brackenridge, conducted by Rev. George E. Davies of the First Presbyterian church.
Burial will take place in the Eddyville cemetery.
