Mrs. Eliza Canfield passed away about 4 o'clock Monday morning in her sleep at her home two miles east of the Pinehill school from a heart attack. She was 79 years, 4 months, and 9 days old and had lived in Creek County for 47 years.
Survivors are the husband, Jacob Canfield, three sons, Ober and Harley GREEN of Depew and Orval Canfield of Pinehill Community; five daughters, Mrs. Loda Stanley, Mrs. Lata BAKER, Mrs. Ruby Reed, all of Bristow, Mrs. Zella Creekmur of Gilbert, AZ, and Mrs. Edith Johnston of Carbondale, CO; 25 grandchildren and 17 Great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Sullivan's Funeral Home with W. H. Carter officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Eliza was of German heritage, and taught some school before her marriage 12 February, 1885, to John GREEN in Seneca Co., Ohio. Eliza and John moved westward from Crawford Co., Ohio with her sister, Lucretia, to Abilene, Kansas. Eliza's first child, Loda Lucretia was born near Abilene. Twelve miles south of Abilene at Roxsbury, Lata Alma, was born (1891-1953). Two and one-half years later, Zella Mae arrived.
While her sister, Lucretia, remained at Newbern, Kansas, near Abilene, Eliza moved with John and family southeasterly to Burlington, Kansas, where her two sons, Obert John and Harley William were born.
Eliza and John GREEN were farming in Creek Nation, Indian Territory of Oklahoma June 1899. Ruby Avis and Edith Loretta were born in 1900 and 1903.
Eliza and Jacob Canfield were married 1905. 1906 Orval Wilford was born to this union.
