Laurana was the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Hascall) Leavens. She married Thomas Weld and the couple relocated to Reading, Windsor Co., Vermont by 1795 when their first child a son was born. Nine more were born in Reading by 1812, seven sons and two daughters. Sometime before 1820, they moved a second time to what was at the time Genesee County, New York. Laurana died there in the town of Ridgeway.
