Doris was born in Czechoslovakia, to the late Joseph and Bessie (Hejkl) Tupy. At the age of six, she and her mother came to America to join her father who was already in the States. On May 10, 1946, she was united in marriage to William A. Foit in Temple. They made their home in Dallas for 32 years before moving to West in 1978 after William's retirement. Doris was a loving wife and mother who had a great concern for her church, family and home. She was a very faithful member of the West Brethren Church for many years, prior to that she was a member of the Dallas Brethren Church. Doris was a great cook who made the best kolaches and buchtas. She also enjoyed gardening and was always glad to share her produce with her extended families. For the last six years Doris made her home at the West Rest Haven, Station 3. While there she received wonderful care by the loving nurses and staff. She also made many new friends with the other residents.
She was preceded in death by her husband on November 17, 1994; a daughter, Carolyn Liu; and a sister, Georgia Zabojnik.
Survivors include son-in-law, Frederic Liu, of Flushing, NY; sister, Elizabeth Crone, of Saltillo; sisters-in-law, Polly Barton and Anna Ruth Lovecky, of West, and Dorothy Schovajsa, of Inez; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
