He attended Univ. of Notre Dame from 1918-1921 where he played football under Knute Rockne.

Professional baseball player in 1922. Outfielder for the Detroit Tigers.

He played professional football in the National Football League with the Chicago Cardinals in 1922-1923, the Racine Legion in 1924 and the Chicago Bears in 1925.

He became a medical doctor and was a lieutenant colonel in the US Army Medical Corp. during WW II. He later became a surgeon at a veteran hospital and served as the assistant director of the Veterans Administration's Surgical Service.
