Sidney L. Schwalbe, Former Ozonan, Found Dead In Trailer Home

Sidney Lloyd Schwalbe, 50, was found dead Saturday morning in his trailer home in Fort Stockton. He was found to have died on Tuesday.

Coroner O.T. Jernigan Saturday returned a verdict of death by natural causes. Mr. Schwalbe had been in ill health for some time.

Graveside services were held at 9 a.m. Sunday in the Cedar Hills Cemetery in Ozona.

Services were conducted by Rev. Morris Bratton, pastor of the Ozona Methodist Church. Pallbearers were Jimmy Barbee, Johnny Ray Barbee, Ross Hudstedler, W.T. Goodson, Charles E. Davidson Jr., and Kirby Moore.

Mr. Schwalbe was born Dec. 29, 1908, in Ozona, the son of Mr. Mrs. Fayette Schwalbe. He had worked in Big Lake for several years as an oil field employee and was a cafe employee in Fort Stockton at the time of his death.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ruben Whitehead and Mrs. Dick Ketchum, both of Ozona and Mrs. George Crocker of Lawley, Ala.; six brother, Homer Schwalbe of Yums, Cotton Schwalbe of Fort Stockton, Elmer Schwalbe of Dallas, Lowell Schwalbe of Del Rio and La Verne Schwalbe of Los Angeles; and five sisters, Mrs. F.L. Schramm of Roanoke, Mrs. C.R. Gause of Iradell, Mrs. C.R. Carruthers of Houston, Mrs. O.L. Taylor of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mrs. Lamar Wallace of Long Beach California.
