LAWRENCE E. ENGLERT

Lawrence E. Englert, 68, of Hermann was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Hermann Area Hospital, Saturday, November 6, 1993.
Mr. Englert was a retired owner and operator of heavy duty equipment.
He was born at Morrison, August 9, 1925, a son of Alex and Edna Reis Englert. Mr. Englert, who was divorced, was a member of St. George Church of hermann, Schlender-Blust Post 168, American Legion, Aerie 1328, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Hermann Rod and Gun Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leona Horn of Des Moines, Iowa, and Diane Carney of Holts Summit; five sons, Norbert and Glen Englert of Hermann, Harold Englert of Berger, Leon Englert of Jefferson City, and Larry Englert of Rhineland; two brothers, Virgil J. Englert of Tennessee and M. Jim Englert of Huntsville, Alabama; one sister, Mrs. Terry Burks of Jefferson City; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. One son, George Englert, and one sister, Dorothy Sanford, preceded him in death.
A funeral mass was celebrated this Tuesday morning by the Rev. Father Ambrose German at St. George Church in Hermann, with burial in Oak Haven Memorial Gardens.
Memorials to the Cystic Fibrosis or American Heart Association, or masses are suggested.
