J.W. Hagen, son of William and Sophia (Adrian) Hagen, was born 25 August 1874, in Crawford's Quarry, Presque Isle County, Michigan.
He became a child of God through the sacrament of baptism.
He died at his home in Crawfords's Quarry on 14 August 1876, at the tender age of only 1 Year, 11 Months, 20 Days. He received a Christian funeral and was originally interred at the little cemetery in Crawford's quarry.
This cemetery was later eliminated when the entire Crawford's Quarry area was swallowed up by the Calcite limestone quarry plant. All the graves were removed and reinterred at the Memorial Park cemetery in Rogers City. This is where mother Sophia and her five little children now rest.
