GLENN W. AMBORN

Glenn W. Amborn, 93, of Reedsburg, died Nov. 9, 2010, at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. He was born Jan. 8, 1917, in Powers Lake, Randall Township, to the late Anton and Anna (Schwandt) Amborn.

He married Jean Amborn Nov. 6, 1948, at St. John's Lutheran Chruch, Slades corner. He lived the majority of his married life in Burlington, before moving to Reedsburg, in March of 1993.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in October 1940 and spent four years and 10 months in service, half of his time overseas and half in the states.

He worked at Burlington Brass Works for 33 years and 11 years at St. Mary's Church and School. He retired in April of 1991. He was a member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsburg.

Survivors include his wife, Reedsburg; children, Wayne (Carol) Amborn, Burlington, Glenda (David) Sorensen, Houston, Texas, Kay Amborn, Reedsburg, special friend Lisa King, Reedsburg; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy Amborn, East Troy; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his grandsons, Jerod Weyrauch and Mark Amborn; sisters, Gertrude Amborn, and Nina Seno; brothers, Clifford, Gilbert and Robert; and nephew, Richard Seno.

Funeral services were Nov 12, at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church, Reedsburg. The Revs. Paul Crolius and Kurt Klingbeil co-officiated. Burial with full military honors followed in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Slades Corners. The Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, assisted the family.
