Bennie Fullen Hess, age 63, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Thursday afternoon November 3, 1983 in a Johnson City, Tennessee Hospital following a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Russell County, Virginia, he was the son of Robert Hess of Lebanon, Virginia and of the late Margaret Honaker Hess. He was an employee of the Virginia Department of Highways and Transportation and was a member of the Highlight Assembly of God in Lebanon, Virginia.
Survivors in addition to his father include his wife, Mrs. Edith L. Hess of the home: two daughters,Mrs. Richard (Joann) Street and Mrs. David (Wanda) Barrett both of Honaker: four sons, Hassell Clark, Claude Hess and Louie Hess all of Battle Creek, Michigan and J. P. Hess of Honaker: four sisters; Mrs. Clyde (Belle) Taylor, Mrs. Clyde (Grace) Hess and Mrs. Clarence (Char Mae) Hess all of Lebanon, Virginia and Mrs. Bill (Carrie) Tipton of Welch, West Virginia: two brothers, Bernie Hess of Manassas, Virginia and Taze Hess of Baltimore, Maryland : fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandsons also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady McGlothlin and Rev. Thurman Honaker officiating.
Burial followed in the Russell Memorial Cemetery at Lebanon, Virginia.
