This is an excerpt from the obituary of Charles' brother Kyle.
Charles S. Baker, his only sibling, was a member of the U.S. Air Force and went missing during World War II over the Baltic Sea while delivering supplies to the underground in Norway. The crew of nine was never found. Charles is a member of the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor in New York.

Charles' mother Mildred DeBarr had this stone set so no one would forget her son.

There also exists another memorial, with the names of those who went missing with Charles. Here is a link to that memorial. It is in England and the plot is called Tablets of the Missing.
