Jim Dabney

Jim Dabney, 82, of 1118 Wayne St., was found dead in his bed at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday. Death was caused by a heart attack, and the time of death was estimated at 1:30 a.m.

He was born Apr. 23, 1875, in Kirksville, Mo., the son of Tobin and Elizabeth Dabney. He came to Waterloo in 1933, and he was employed for several years by the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works. He married Mary E. Harris [sic] in Kirksville.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Virgil Dabney, Arvada, Wyo., and Clifford Dabney, Kirksville; three daughters, Mrs. Jessie Collins, California, Mrs. Charlie Phillips, Arvada, Wyo., and Mrs. Earl Fairbanks, 172 West 10th St.; and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services are pending [illegible] O'Keefe and Towne Funeral Home.
