Rachel Claudette Lavender, 50, of Sour Lake, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.

Her service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Magnolia Assembly of God in Port Neches, Texas, with Reverend Brent Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be 5-8:00pm Monday at Broussard's in Nederland, Texas.

Rachel was a lifelong resident of Nederland before moving to Sour Lake 8 years ago.

She was a member of Magnolia Assembly of God in Port Neches and had worked for Mobil Oil for 14 years. She also was an Avon Representative for many years.

Rachel was preceded in death by her father, Roland Ferguson.

She is survived by her husband, Sid Lavender of Sour Lake; her mother and step-father, Pat and Tommy Smith of Nederland; daughters, Cassi and Shantell Lavender both of Sour Lake; son, Dillon Lavender of Sour Lake; brothers, Michael Ferguson of LaBelle and Louis Ferguson of Palestine; uncle and aunt, Carroll and Ann Daughrity of Spurger; A host of nieces,nephews and cousins.
