Arthur Daniel Julian 74, passed away March 11, 1986 at Central Plains Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness. Arthur was born February 18, 1912 near Vernon to Daniel McClain and Della Corene (Caraway) Julian. They moved to Vigo Park, TX when he was 12 and attended schools in Tulia and Kress, TX.
Arthur moved to Finney Community, TX in 1935 where he farmed. He married Doris Mickel Heflin on December 23, 1937 in Plainview, TX. He farmed in the Halfway Community, TX and they moved to Tulia in 1944, to Kress in 1945, and west of Plainview in 1947. In 1957, they moved into Plainview when he retired from active farming. He worked in maintenance at First Baptist Church and Wayland University till retiring in 1982
He was a charter member of the Kress Lions Club, a member of the Senior Citizens in Plainview. He was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and brother Thomas McClain Julian.
Arthur was survived by his wife; one son, David and wife Lanell of Plainview; four daughters, Dovie Harding and husband Paul of Shamrock, TX; Maxine Vernon and husband Alvin of Lubbock, TX, Peggy Willis and husband Gary of Decatur, TX, Pearl Cory and husband John of Lubbock; three sisters, Ann Gandy and husband George of Wheeler, TX, Corene Gandy and husband Cliff of Hereford, TX, and Ola Mae Graham and husband Charles of San Antonio, TX; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
