Nellie Ruth Roberts, 96, of Amarillo died Thursday, June 17, 2010.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Paramount Baptist Church with Lance Herrington officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery in Plainview. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Mrs. Roberts was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Grandview. She married Roy Roberts on Nov. 26, 1938, and lived in Olton, until his death on Feb. 22, 1980. Mrs. Roberts moved to Amarillo on Oct. 21, 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.T. and Cassie Copeland; two sisters, Clara Bell and Delina Weathers; and five brothers, Earl Copeland, Roy Copeland, Ray Copeland, Jay Copeland and Derwood Copeland.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Parsons and husband David of Amarillo; a son, Carl Roberts and wife Cheri of Stuart, Fla.; three granddaughters, Amy Stewardson and husband Ben and great-grandchildren Luke and Kirklyn, all of Frisco, April Tremblay and husband Pete and great-grandchildren Jacob and Colin, all of Stuart, Fla., and Jill Roberts of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The family suggests memorials be to Olton Volunteer Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 1087, Olton, TX 79064; or Odyssey Hospice, 6900 W. Interstate 40, Suite 150, Amarillo, TX 79106.
