James Roy Rambo was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Mayfield Baptist Church, a Sunday School teacher, and a deacon of his church. He moved from Comanche County to Floyd County with his parents in 1925. He moved to Prairieview in 1928 and to Petersburg in 1933, where he graduated from high school. He married Virginia Sue Ragland on 7 June 1945 in Floydada and the couple moved to Mayfield in 1956. Survived by his wife; two sons - Danny and Dennis; two daughters - Diane and Suzanne; his parents; three brothers - Tom, Carl W., and Don R. Rambo.
