Dr. George M. Agan, attended Marengo Academy and the Hospital Medical College in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated in 1886 and practiced medicine at Columbia, Iowa, 1886-1892, Silver City 1892-1908 and Glenwood 1908-1937. In 1938 he moved to the home of a daughter at Owatonna, Minnesota, where he died March 14, 1939 and was buried at Silver City. He was a prominent member of the Methodist Church and active in community affairs, being Mayor at one time.
Dr. Agan was married to mary Sophia Martin on November 25, 1888. They had four children, a son Frederich who died young, Barbara, Norma and Helen.
Barbara was a graduate nurse, and served in WWI Norma married Everett Goldty and died on Aug. 20, 1934. Helen married D. Lowell Johnson. Mrs. Agan died in 1952.
