Benton Moore, 74, died Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at Park Lane Nursing Home, Scott City.
Mr. Moore was born Sept 19, 1923, in Scott County. He was a lifetime Scott County resident and a retired independent business operator who worked as a milk delivery man, owned and operated local service stations and was involved in other business endeavors. He was a retired volunteer firefighter and a member of Scott City First Baptist Church and Scott County Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth of Scott City; a daughter, Pat Connie of Scott City; four sons, Tom of Greeley, Bill of Manhattan, John of Belle Plains and Chuck of Colby; two sisters, Delores Hess of Scott City and Ethel Anderson of Albuquerque, N.M.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Scott City First Baptist Church, the Rev. Lynn Smith officiating. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, 401 S. Washington, Scott City, 67871. Memorials may be made to Scott County V.I.P.'s or to the City Slickers Special Olympics.
