HILLSBORO -- Veda Dean Reeves Brooks, 71, of Grange City, Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 3, 2006, at her residence. She was born March 15, 1934 in Grange City, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late William Pammer and Elizabeth Bradshaw Reeves. On June 29, 1957, she was married to Frank Brooks, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1998.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Bessie Reeves in 1995, Nina Yapp in 2003 and Abbie America Norris in 2004; and three brothers, Ollie R. Reeves in 1985, David William Reeves in 2003 and Barney Reeves in 2004.

Survivors include one sister, Ellen Adams of Hillsboro, Kentucky; one brother, Herbert Reeves and his wife Marjorie of Knightstown, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Margaret Jones Reeves of New Castle, Indiana; and 14 nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker, worked on the dairy farm with her husband and was a former employee of St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2006 at the Hutton Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hawkins and Rev. Vernon Gross officiating.

Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Robert Reeves, Bill Adams, Donnie Jewell, Billy Joe Adams, Jeff Reeves, Dennie (Dick) Adams, Lyle Davis and Jose Perez will serve as pallbearers. Monty Jent, Mike Egan, Ricky Lewis and Randy Donathan will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation was Sunday at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Kentucky.
