Ada Obray Long was born Wednesday, February 25, 1874 in Paradise to Thomas Lorenzo Obray and Ruth Nuttall Bradshaw.

She married Thos. Edwin Miles on April 27, 1892 in the Logan Temple; later divorced. They had three children: Edward David, Ruth Obrey Krouse, and Thomas Virgil.

She married Charles Rozelle Long on Friday, March 8, 1912 in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death on Saturday, April 8, 1950. They were the adoptive parents of one daughter: Ada.

She was a registered nurse.

Following her first marriage, Ada moved to Salt Lake City. In 1915, she and her second husband, Charles, moved to 649 South Roberta Street (240 East) in the Central City neighborhood, where she lived for thirty-six years.

Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she was a longtime member of the Liberty Third Ward, Salt Lake Liberty Stake.

Ada passed away of coronary occlusion at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 1958 at the Utah State Hospital in Provo, where she had been a patient since Saturday, September 15, 1951.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 1958 in the Rose Room located at 36 East 700 South in Salt Lake City Narvel J. Scherzinger, Bishop of the Liberty Third Ward, conducted the funeral. A viewing was held on Sunday, October 26, 1958 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Saturday.
Ada was laid to rest following the conclusion of the funeral services in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
