Rev. Ashley was a Methodist minister. He was a District Superintendent for the Bowling Green, Ky. district. Then moved to eastern Kentucky and founded the Methodist Hospital in Pikeville, Ky. After he retired, he became the Associate Pastor of Trinity Temple Methodist Church in Louisville, Ky. There he started the Dial-A-Prayer program. He died while answering a question during the telecast of the program "What Is Your Faith". He was a graduate of Union College in Barbourville, Ky. Lulu and Bradley were the parents of five children. Harold, Sewell, Marguerite, Nancye, and William Thomas(Bill Tom), who survives. Sewell died at 6 years of age and Nancye died at six months.
