Isaiah "Son" Luckey, 84, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Heartland Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow in Greenleaf Cemetery.

Isaiah Son Luckey was born to the late Carrie and Henry Luckey Sr. on November 29, 1925 in Gonzales, Texas.

He grew up in Granger, Texas attending school there. As a young man his work took him to various locations. Orange, Texas and Corpus Christi, Texas were some among them where he had previously lived. Isaiah arrived in Brownwood on Memorial Day, 1960 where he went to work for the Herman Bennett Co. building the Holiday Inn Hotel. He later worked for the Howard Payne College and First Baptist Church. Isaiah then went to work for Superior Cable Co. where he worked until he retired.

He leaves to mourn, his wife of 49 years, Nellie Bell Luckey; three step-sons - Lyndon Harling of Brownwood, Ronald Harling of San Antonio, and Phillip Harling of Brownwood; two sisters - Jewel Spencer of Dimmitt and Pearl Shuler of Austin; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Raymond, Earl, Amos, and Henry Luckey, two sisters, Orel James and Irene Luckey, a daughter, Pamela Harling, a son, Robert Harling Jr. and a grandson, Earl Franklin.

Isaiah passed from this earthly life on Saturday, February 6, at the Brownwood Regional Medical Center.
