Joseph Crown, lives in Virginia, Wm. Ross, Supt. (Eastern Branch & Rock Creek) l slave." After their marriage in 1798 they moved to Shenandoah Co., VA where Mary Slater's brother and sister were living. There was a deed recorded in Prince George's Co., MD in 1801 where Joseph Crown sold to Electius Edelen "one Sorrell horse, one cow & calf, one heifer, six head of Hogs, one Bed Bedstead & furniture, plantation utensils, 500 pounds of Tobo. and crop of Corn fodder & Tobacco now on the plantation."
