Wayne LeRoy "Puzz" Reed, 83, of Cheneyville, died at 9:03 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2010, at his home.

He was born Nov. 17, 1926 in Cheneyville to Charley Delmont and Orpha Troxell Reed. He married Rosemary Misner on March 29, 1949 in the Antioch Church of Christ. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Cindy D. Reed of Hoopeston; a son, Sgt. Major Dennis W. (Kathy) Reed of Quantico, Va.; two sisters, Jeanne Custer of Hoopeston and Zelda Shepherd of Riverdale; a brother, Don (Jewel) Reed of rural Hoopeston; a step-granddaughter, Crystal Stout; a step-grandson, Josh Stout; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-46 during World War II and from 1951-52 during the Korean Conflict.
