Della May Welch, daughter of Harrison and Samantha Welch, was born December 24, 1874 near DeSoto, Iowa in Dallas County, and passed away at the Kings Daughters Hospital at Perry, Iowa in Dallas County, on November 26, 1951, at the age of 76 years 11 months and 2 days.
On January 11, 1894 she was united in marriage to Charles W. Keller, and to this union was born six children, Mary, Harold, Harlan, Chloris, Eldon and Arlene. Her parents, her husband, two daughters Mary and Arlene, two sisters and one brother, preceded her in death.
She leaves three sons, Harold J. Keller of Portland, Oregon, Harlan M. Keller of Des Moines, Iowa, Eldon G. Keller of Elkhart, Iowa; one daughter Mrs. Conley J. Biddle of Perry Iowa; one foster daughter Mrs. Dean McDowell of Eldora, Iowa; twenty two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also one brother, Wilmer Welch of Elkhart, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Willis J. Ballard of Long Beach, California and Mrs. James Burgess of Elkhart, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
From her childhood years until the time of her death she lived in the Elkhart community in Polk County. She united with the Elkhart Christian Church when she was a young girl, and throughout all her life she was a faithful follower of Christ and a loyal worker in the Church.
She was a good neighbor and a kind friend to many people in the Elkhart community. In her home, she was a faithful mother to her family, carrying major responsibilities of the household while her husband Charles Keller served for thirty years the public interests of Polk County.

Mother of Mrs. Biddle Is Dead
Mrs. May Keller, 76, of Elkhart, died at Kings Daughters hospital Monday at 7:25 p.m. following a long illness. She had been hospitalized since Nov. 15.
Mrs. Keller was visiting in Perry at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. J. Biddle, when she became ill.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Christian church in Elkhart with the Rev. Carl Johnson, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be at the Elkhart cemetery.
Mrs. Keller was born Dec. 24, 1874, in Dallas county near DeSoto. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Welch. She married Charles W. Keller on Jan 11, 1894.
Survivors include three sons, Harold J. Keller of Portland, Ore., Harlan M. Keller of Des Moines, and Eldon Keller of Elkhart; one daughter, Mrs. Chloris F. Biddle of Perry; a foster daughter, Mrs. Juanita McDowell of Eldora; twenty two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Wilmer Welch of Elkhart; two sisters, Mrs. Alice J. Ballard of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Othella M. Burgess of Elkhart and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two daughters, two sisters and a brother.
The body will lie in state at the Workman funeral home until Thursday noon when it will be taken to Elkhart for services and burial.
