OTIS — Marilyn J. Landers, 78, died Feb. 9 at the Rush County Nursing Home, La Crosse. Born Oct. 27, 1931, at Garnett, she was the daughter of Jack and Grace (Smith) Stewart. Marilyn married Richard Landers on Dec. 30, 1951, at Garnett. He survives. She was a homemaker and a waitress for many years at Alex's Cafe, Highway Cafe and Hoisington Cafe. She had lived in Otis since 1989, moving from Hoisington.

Mrs. Landers was a member of the Otis United Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to her husband of Otis, include two sons, John A. Landers and wife Jenny of Otis and Eric L. Landers and wife Kim of Hoisington; three daughters, Twila Jo Milburn and husband Mike of Fulton, Lila Jean Hoch of Great Bend and Mary Lynne Schneider and husband Daryl of Hoisington; a sister, Delores Stewart of Miami, Okla.; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a half brother, William Burns.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with the Rev. David G. Bolz officiating. Burial will be at the Hoisington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Rush County Nursing Home, Otis United Methodist Church or South Wind Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
