MANNING - JO ANN O'BRYAN, 68, of Louisville, passed away Monday, October 29, 2007, at her home. She was a member of St. Matthias Catholic Church. She was a wife, mother, grandmother (nanny), daughter, sister and aunt. Jo Ann fought a valiant battle against chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Those closest to her knew the last few years were painful and yet there was a warm smile and joy filled greeting through it all. She will be remembered best for her warm heart, her willingness to give and her inherent beliefs. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Rita O'Bryan. Jo Ann is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, George Manning; three sons, Bryan Manning (Terri), Chris Manning (Angie) and Troy Manning; three daughters, Michelle Burrell, Lori Taylor (Dean) and Stephanie Salem (Maher); seven grandchildren, Bree Burrell, Ryan Manning, Sean and Kara Taylor and Patrick, Nadia and Buster Salem; eight step-grandchildren; her father, John A. O'Bryan; two brothers, John S. O'Bryan (Wilma) and Dr. Mike O'Bryan (Diana); 10 sisters, Helen Greenwell, Fran Clark (Mike), Mary Rita Neff (Jack), Marilyn Preher (J.B.), Jean Shattuck, D.J. Werner (Buddy), Rebecca Highbaugh (Terry), Ellen Brothers (Dennis), Andrea Esarey and Betty Polen (Brad); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and many friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at O. D. White & Sons, 2727 South Third Street, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
