Mabel Nettie Jones, 77, a resident of the Fulton County Long Term Care Unit, McConnellsburg, died Saturday, December 8, 2001 in the Fulton County Medical
Center.

She was born on March 7, 1924 in Cove Gap, Pa., the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Esther E. Kuhn Sipes.

On June 29, 1943 she married Blaine F. Jones, Sr., who preceded her in death on August 6, 1993. She was a member of the First Church of the Brethren, Harrisonburg, Va. and
worked for the Harrisonburg Police Department as a School Crossing Guard at Waterman Elementary School for over twenty years, prior to her retirement.

She is survived by two sons: Robert E. Jones, McConnellsburg and Blaine F. Jones, Jr., Elkton, Va.; eight grandchildren: Christine V. Flemming, Richmond, Va.; Joseph R. Jones, Blacksburg, Va.; Joseph L. Jones, Inwood, W.Va.; Richard D. Jones, McConnellsburg; Candace L. Dix, Danville, Va.; Alexander and Ann-Sophie Jones of Titis, Germany and English Shifflet, Elkton, Va.; three great-grandchildren: Logan J. and Jasmine P. Jones, Inwood, W.Va. and Gage I.

In addition she is survived by three sisters: Hylda A. Evertt, Greencastle; Beulah E. Jones, Portland, Ore. and Lou I. Ramsey, McConnellsburg; three brothers: Ralph L. Sipes, Ttisville, Fla.; Clarence J. Sipes, Memphis, Tenn. and Lawrence D. Sipes, McConnellsburg. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Melva E. Hillis and Hazel C. Kelchner.

Funeral services were held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 10 at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home. Rev. Belvy White officiated. Burial was made in East Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Harrisonburg, Va. December 12 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. J.D. Glick officiated.
