He was born August 3, 1915, in Enid OK, to Pearl Milton and Grace Hull Walker.
He married Maxine Lucille Garrett on July 21, 1935, in Memphis, MO. She died May 19, 1991.
He retired July 31, 1978, from the Scotland County, MO Schools after 23 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Memphis, MO.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Ann Lefler and her husband, Bill of Fremont, NE, and Carolyn Blake and her husband, Bill of Memphis, MO; two brothers, Glen of Bloomfield, IA, and Floyd of Memphis, MO; a sister, Dorothy Shell of Chillicothe, IL; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special friend, Laura Jean Kirkpatrick of Memphis, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, and a son in infancy, Donald Lee.
Visitation will be open after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, at the Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. to receive friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2002, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Memphis, MO, with Brother Jack Sumption officiating. Burial will be in the Memphis Cemetery, Memphis, MO. Casket bearers will be Steve Downing, Bill Harrelson, Morris Walker, Carl Kapfer, Paul Luscombe, and George Kull. An open memorial has been established. Memphis Funeral Home of Memphis, MO is in charge of arrangements.
