Richard Louis Casebier, 56, Topeka, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, shortly after arrival at a Topeka hospital after he was stricken at home.

He was born Sept. 15, 1945, in Topeka, to Louis Jacob and Ruth Coburn Casebier. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1963 and attended Washburn University. He worked in the accounting department of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. He was a co- owner of Casebier Fireworks.

He was a member of Seabrook Congregational United Church of Christ.

He married Jo Ann Harris on Aug. 24, 1968, in Topeka. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Brian Edward Casebier, Topeka; his parents, Louis Jacob and Ruth Coburn Casebier, Topeka; a sister, Roberta Oestreich, Wakarusa; and a grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Funeral Home. Burial will be in Centralia Cemetery in Nemaha County. Mr. Casebier will lie in state after noon Tuesday at the funeral home, where relatives and friends will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
