F. Eleanor Spenle, 94, of Beloit, WI, passed away on February 9, 2010, in her home. She was born in Clinton, WI, on June 25, 1915, the daughter of James Everett and Mary F. Peters Wall. Eleanor married Ernest Emil Spenle on March 8, 1941, in Dubuque, IA. He predeceased her on May 12, 1984. Eleanor was a 1934 graduate of Clinton Schools and was a Girl Scout leader in her youth. She was past President of the Beloit Vocational Homemakers Club and was an avid reader. Eleanor also knitted and sewed clothing for the Southern Colony. She enjoyed watching TV, traveling with her family and later with her friends. Eleanor also enjoyed summers at Big Lake Mackenzie in Spooner, WI, with her family and relatives. Prior to her marriage, she worked for the DeLong family of Clinton and later at Fairbanks Morse Company in the office during World War II, retiring in 1945. Eleanor later chose to be a homemaker to raise her children. Survivors include her brother, Arthur Wall of Schaumburg, IL; two sons, Robert C. (Joanne) Spenle of Chetek, WI, and Roger W. (Deborah) Spenle of Beloit; two grandsons, Robert L. (Maria) Spenle of Janesville, WI and David A. (Sarah) Spenle of Colfax, WI; four great-grandsons: Michael Spenle of Platteville, WI, Craig Spenle of Janesville, Hunter Spenle of Colfax, WI, and Drew Spenle of Janesville; two step great-grandchildren, Brody and Tenley of Janesville; and one niece, Jeanine (David Robertson) Wall of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at the DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery, Beloit, WI.
