Mrs. Nellie F. SHOEMAKER, 81, R.R. 5, Rochester (Tiosa), died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn hospital after a six-month illness. She had been in the hospital for three weeks. Born Sept. 4, 1886 in Marshall county, she was the daughter of Monroe and Lafina FISH CHAPMAN. She had spent most of her life in the Tiosa community. She was married to Clifford SHOEMAKER, who died in April, 1953. She was a member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Fern) SWIHART, R.R. 1, Argos; six sons, Ralph L. [SHOEMAKER], R.R. 5, Rochester; Roy and Claude [SHOEMAKER], both of Argos; Raymond [SHOEMAKER] of Gary; Carl [SHOEMAKER], of Orange, Cal., and Lee [SHOEMAKER], of Palocedro, Cal.; twenty-six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Audrey COLE, Goodlitsville, Tenn., and Mrs. Jesse CALLIS, Indianapolis; five brothers, Russell, Earl and Merble [CHAPMAN], all of Rochester; Elton [CHAPMAN[, of California, and Charles [CHAPMAN] of Brook. Two sons preceded in death. Friends may call at the Grossman funeral home in Argos after 7 p.m. today. Rites will be there at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Howard ADDLEMAN officiating. Burial will be in the Sand Hill cemetery north of Rochester.
