Robert W. Argetsinger, Littleton, Colo., died on his 61st birthday at his home on Friday, April 23, 2004.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 2 at Hartquist Funeral Chapel, Pipestone, with Rev. Becky Jo Thilges officiating.

Casket bearers were his nieces and nephews, Todd, Kelly, and Ryan Quist and Aaron, Rebekkah and Sarah Erks.

Interment was in New Woodlawn Cemetery.

Robert Warren Argetsinger was born to Dr. Warren and Catherine Argetsinger on April 23, 1943 in Colorado Springs, Colo. He lived there for the first four months of his life. He then lived in Marshalltown, Iowa with his mother and maternal grandparents while his father served in New Zealand during WWII. In 1946 his family moved to Pipestone where he was raised. He was confirmed in the Methodist Church.

Bob graduated from Pipestone High School in 1961. He participated in Thespian Society and band. After attending Hamline University in St. Paul for several years he began a four year enlistment in the U.S. Navy. In the mid-1960's he served as a communications technician in Puerto Rico and the Mediterranean Sea on a USS American Aircraft carrier. Following his discharge, Bob returned to the University of Minnesota where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. He was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Ten years ago he was transferred to Littleton, Colo. where he was a telecommunications engineer and technical writer. Bob retired in March of 2000.

He is survived by his two sisters, Helen (Gary) Quist, Marshall and Eleanor (Rick) Erks, Pipestone; three nephews, three nieces and three grand nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Warren Argetsinger.
