Larry Lomax 1954 - 2010 Larry Lomax passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 1, 2010, leaving behind a group of grieving family members and friends. He was born in San Pedro, CA on December 27, 1954, but lived most of his life in Bakersfield. Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Lomax. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen and daughters, Jill and Erin, whom Larry always referred to as "my girls". He also leaves behind his mother, Sue Shearer; sisters, Terry Costner and Lori Lomax; brothers, Clay and Michael Lomax; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by many friends and his co-workers at Urner's, who deserve special thanks for their kindness at this difficult time. Larry never met a stranger and had many life-long friends and stories to tell. None of us can remember him saying an unkind word about anyone and he was always happy with a smile on his face. He was Karen's "go-to guy" and her rock of support. Somewhere up above there is a party going on, and Larry Lomax is in the middle of it. A service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Thursday, February 11, at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of life will be held afterward at a location to be announced at the service.
