Caroline Cox, 89, widow of William Harry Cox, formerly of Marietta, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2006, at Autumn Care of Saluda.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late William R. and Janie Smith Cox. Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and was a member of Cox Chapel Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Helen Nelson and husband, Jimmy, and Judy Edwards and husband, Bruce; a son, Joe W. Cox and wife, Patricia; a sister, Eugenia Burnette and husband, Ray; a sister-in-law, Mary Cox; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by sisters, Beatrice Pace, Ethel Coggins, Gertrude Johnson, Margaret Ward, and Daisy Robinson; a brother, Frank Cox; son-in-law, Ed Bailey; and a grandson, Jerry Bailey.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Cox Chapel Baptist Church, with burial at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.

Memorials may be made to Cox Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 588 Hart Cut Road, Marietta, SC 29661.

The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements.
