Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late William R. and Janie Smith Cox. Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and was a member of Cox Chapel Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Helen Nelson and husband, Jimmy, and Judy Edwards and husband, Bruce; a son, Joe W. Cox and wife, Patricia; a sister, Eugenia Burnette and husband, Ray; a sister-in-law, Mary Cox; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by sisters, Beatrice Pace, Ethel Coggins, Gertrude Johnson, Margaret Ward, and Daisy Robinson; a brother, Frank Cox; son-in-law, Ed Bailey; and a grandson, Jerry Bailey.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Cox Chapel Baptist Church, with burial at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends this evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.
