Mrs. Frances Norris, lifelong resident of Red Bluff, and well known here, died Sunday evening at Red Bluff. She was 93 years of age. Mrs. Norris is survived by three children, Mrs. Dora Thomas and Elgin Norris of Red Bluff and Mrs. LaVilla Dunning of Paradise; one sister, Miss Bertha Downen, of Orland and two grandchildren living in Orland, Mrs. Thelma Foltz and Norris Cleek. Arrangements for the services are pending.

Frances Ann Norris died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dora Thomas of Red Bluff yesterday afternoon at the age of 93. Born Sept. 19, 1861 in St. Joseph, Mo. She crossed the plains in a covered wagon at the age of seven with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Downen. They settled in Glenn County near Orland where she later married Andrew Norris in 1884. The couple lived at his ranch farm near Artois and in 1885 they moved to Tehama County and settled near Lyonsville where they reared their family. In 1908, they moved to Antelope where they made their home. Mrs. Norris was active in the Women's Improvement Club and church work during her life time. Following the death of her husband in 1923 she moved to Red Bluff where she made her home until her death. She was a member of the Bethel Temple in Red Bluff. Survivors include her children, H. E. Norris of Red Bluff, Lavilla Dunning of Paradise, Dora Thomas of Red Bluff, and a sister, Bertha Downen of Orland. There are five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Hoyt's Chapel with burial following in the family plot in Oak Hill cemetery.
