Alice Hadden Vann was born in Madison County December 7, 1872, daughter of the late Joshua Q. Hadden and his wife, Elizabeth Cobb Hadden. She was married to Russell F. Vann forty-seven years ago and came to their present home on West Pinckney Street, where they had lived continuously, and reared their children in a typical old fashioned southern home. Three fine children went out from this
home to occupy places of responsibility and usefulness in the world. They are Mrs. Thomas A. Sherrard, of Abbeville, SC, the former Miss Kathleen Vann; Mr. John W. Vann of Atlanta, and Russell F. Vann, II, Melbourne, FL. These with the bereaved husband, and three grandchildren, Thomas A. Sherrard II, of Abbeville, Russell F. Vann III, and Carol Alice Vann, of Melbourne, a devoted sister, Miss Mamie Lou Hadden, and a brother, R. H. Hadden, are the immediate survivors. -
